The Republican Party's 5th District convention took place on April 5, 2025, at the Wilkes AG Center in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The event saw the participation of 163 delegates. Billy Miller served as the chair for the convention.

U.S. Congresswoman Virginia Foxx provided a congressional update as one of the first items on the agenda. This was followed by a North Carolina GOP update delivered by Chairman Jason Simmons. The convention also offered statewide and local candidates the opportunity to address the delegates.

During the business segment of the convention, reports from the Credentials Committee, Rules Committee, Plan of Organization Committee, and Resolution Committee were presented. Subsequently, the convention moved to the election of new officers for the district.

The elected officers for the 5th District are Jack Simms as Chair, Christopher Meadows as Vice Chair, Patricia Andrews as Secretary, and Rick Woods as Treasurer.

Among the notable candidates and speakers who participated were U.S. Representative Virginia Foxx, North Carolina House of Representatives member Blair Eddins, North Carolina Senator Eddie Settle, Andy Nilsson as a candidate for U.S. Senate, and Sheriff Sam Paige as a candidate for North Carolina Senate. Jack Simms was also present in his capacity as the newly elected 5th District Chair.

At the conclusion of the officer elections, Billy Miller handed over the gavel to Jack Simms, marking the transition of leadership.
