The Committee on Education and Workforce, led by Chairman Tim Walberg, is set to hold a full committee hearing on antisemitism on American college campuses. Scheduled for Wednesday, May 7th, at 10:15 a.m., the event is named “Beyond the Ivy League: Stopping the Spread of Antisemitism on American Campuses.” This hearing is a part of the committee's ongoing efforts to address and manage cases of antisemitism in educational environments and to ensure that Jewish students are protected under Title VI.
“For the past few years, our Committee has played a critical role in both uncovering the rampant antisemitism on college campuses and holding administrators accountable,” said Chairman Walberg. “This hearing is a continuation of this work so that we can ensure Jewish students across the nation don’t face threats or harassment in violation of Title VI. Numerous legislative options are under consideration to make certain that schools across the country are ensuring a safe learning environment for all students in compliance with federal law.”
The hearing, which will take place at 2175 Rayburn House Office Building, will feature testimonies from Dr. Jeffrey Armstrong, President of California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo), Dr. Wendy Raymond, President of Haverford College, and Dr. Robert Manuel, President of DePaul University.
Media representatives who plan to cover the hearing are required to RSVP to Sara@mail.house.gov. The session will also be available for public viewing through a live stream on the Committee’s YouTube channel.
