Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg announced the Republican members who will serve on the committee in the 119th Congress. The list of new and returning members was recommended by the Republican Steering Committee and is anticipated to be officially adopted by the House.
"Heading into the 119th Congress, America's families, workers, and job creators are hungry for opportunities that will help them thrive," said Chairman Walberg. "From depowering the Department of Education to strengthening employee benefits, the depth and breadth of the work in front of the Committee is substantial. But with big challenges come big opportunities. I am excited to utilize the expertise and talents of the Education and Workforce Committee Members to deliver for the American people."
The appointed Republican members include:
Tim Walberg (MI), Joe Wilson (SC), Virginia Foxx (NC), GT Thompson (PA), Glenn Grothman (WI), Elise Stefanik (NY), Rick Allen (GA), James Comer (KY), Burgess Owens (UT), Lisa McClain (MI), Mary Miller (IL), Julia Letlow (LA), Kevin Kiley (CA), Erin Houchin (IN). New members are Bob Onder from Missouri, Ryan Mackenzie from Pennsylvania, Michael Baumgartner from Washington, Mike Rulli from Ohio, Mark Harris from North Carolina, and Mark Messmer from Indiana.
