Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg has criticized the Biden-Harris administration for its handling of recent Title VI antisemitism complaints. Walberg claims that agreements reached with universities, including Rutgers, five University of California campuses, and Johns Hopkins, are insufficient and fail to hold these institutions accountable.
“It’s disgraceful that in the final days of the Biden-Harris administration, the Department of Education is letting universities, including Rutgers, five University of California system campuses including UCLA, and Johns Hopkins, off the hook for their failures to address campus antisemitism," Walberg stated. He urged the incoming Trump administration to scrutinize these agreements and consider imposing stricter consequences on the schools involved.
Walberg also emphasized that "no more complaints should be settled before President Trump takes office" and criticized the current resolutions as inadequate. He argued that "the Department is shamefully abandoning its obligation to protect Jewish students, faculty, and staff."
