Cost of college went down for all students at Mayland Community College

In-state tuition and fees fell 2.6 percent for 2018-19 at Mayland Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina residents paid $2,558 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-resident students would have paid 240.2 percent more than residents this year, or $8,702. Non-resident tuition and fees were unchanged from $8,702 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are North Carolina residents.

Data shows 86 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 38 students received grants or scholarships totaling $162,410.

Including all undergraduates (1,082), 487 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.8 million.
