Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) expressed his approval following the Senate's confirmation of Linda McMahon as Secretary of the Department of Education.
Chairman Walberg remarked on the need for change within the department, stating, “For too long, the Department of Education has bowed down to bureaucrats rather than stand up for students." He praised Secretary McMahon for her advocacy, saying she "has demonstrated she is a fierce advocate for our youth."
Walberg highlighted McMahon's dual expertise in education and business as pivotal for student success. He emphasized his eagerness to collaborate with her to advance the Trump administration’s educational policies, aiming to prioritize students' needs.
“I look forward to working closely with her to implement the Trump administration’s agenda and finally put our nation’s students first,” he concluded.
