Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg expressed his support for President Trump's executive order aimed at protecting women and girls in sports.

Chairman Walberg stated, "President Trump could not have found a better way to commemorate National Women and Girls in Sports Day. For too long, the integrity of women’s sports has been compromised and the safety of female athletes endangered." He criticized the previous administration's policies, saying they "tried to unravel decades of progress made by women to appease the most radical fringes of its own base," which he believes resulted in lost opportunities and scholarships for female athletes.

Walberg praised the current administration's actions, stating, "Finally, we have a president that recognizes the importance of safeguarding opportunities for female athletes to compete safely and fairly. Today’s executive order ensures that women and girls won’t be pushed to the sidelines in their own sports."

This statement follows House Republicans' unanimous vote on January 14 to pass H.R. 28, known as the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. The legislation aims to protect women's sports from exploitation and maintain fair competition for female athletes.
