Committee reviews bills on foreign influence in education and child nutrition

Tomorrow, the Committee on Education and Workforce will hold a session to review five legislative proposals. The meeting is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. and will take place in Room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The committee, chaired by Representative Tim Walberg from Michigan, aims to address concerns regarding foreign influence in American education and issues related to child nutrition through these bills.

The proposed legislation includes H.R. 1048, known as the DETERRENT Act; H.R. 649, titled the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act of 2025; H.R. 1069, referred to as the PROTECT Our Kids Act; H.R. 1005, named the CLASS Act; and H.R. 1049, called the TRACE Act.

This session is open to members of the press and can be viewed via live stream on the Committee’s YouTube page.
