National Park Service Grandfather District has advised a prescribed burn | TOWN OF BOONE: ( linktr.ee/townofboone)

Town of Boone issued the following announcement on March 7.

While not in the Town of Boone limits, we all know Thunderhill Overlook is a go to spot for residents, students, tourists, and others within Boone.

So, this is a PSA in order to notify as many people as possible!

The National Park Service Grandfather District has advised a prescribed burn that will take place over the next couple of days in the Thunderhill area of Globe Road. The burn will cover several hundred acres and can be expected to produce smoke in the Blowing Rock area over the next couple of days. Please be advised when planning your trip through Watauga County!

For more information, please call the Grandfather Ranger District at (828) 652-2144. Thank you to the Town of Blowing Rock for sending this PSA!
