Boil Water Advisory | VILLAGE OF SUGAR MOUNTAIN: ( seesugar.com/village)

Village of Sugar Mountain issued the following announcement on Dec. 30.

Customers impacted only on the following streets: Elk horn Rd, Elk horn Lane, Little Sugar Lane, Highland Creek, The Highlands Buildings 1-9

Customers will experience outages in the distribution system due to an emergency repair in your area.

Repairs are underway and water should be restored as quickly as possible within the next few hours, barring any complications. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system.

As a precautionary measure, once water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation).

As an alternative, bottled water may be used. The NC Division of Water Resources Public Water Supply Section has been contacted concerning this event.

Please be advised that this boil water advisory is directly related to repairs made to the water

Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

This office is strongly urging water consumers to conserve water whenever possible.  Customers will be notified by a second phone notification message once the Boil Advisory has been rescinded.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience. If you should have any questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-525-7990.
