Today, Representative Virginia Foxx of North Carolina announced her appointment to a new council tasked with overseeing the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). President Trump established the Council to Assess FEMA through an executive order on January 24.
Representative Foxx expressed her views regarding FEMA's performance. "The FEMA bureaucracy is failing the citizens of western North Carolina," she stated. Foxx emphasized her support for potential reforms, saying, "I wholeheartedly agree with President Trump’s sentiment that if we cannot fix FEMA, it must be overhauled."
Foxx expressed gratitude for her appointment to the council. "I thank President Trump for appointing me to the Council to Assess the Federal Emergency Management Agency – I’ll work alongside my colleagues to hold FEMA’s feet to the fire at every turn," she said. She concluded by stating, "Western North Carolina deserves nothing less."
The establishment of this council marks a significant step in addressing concerns about FEMA's operations and effectiveness.
