Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx expressed her approval following a recent decision by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The court invalidated an overtime rule introduced by the Biden-Harris administration.

Foxx commented on the ruling, stating, “Once again, the Biden-Harris administration has had its hand slapped for government overreach. Is it ever going to learn?”

The chairwoman criticized the economic impact of current regulations under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She stated, “The Biden-Harris economy is crushing everyday Americans with burdensome regulations that stifle growth and innovation—the overtime rule is just one of many bad policies.”

Foxx further highlighted her concerns regarding the implications for businesses and workers. “American workers and businesses deserve better," she said. "This unworkable rule is drowning job creators in excessive compliance costs and in turn hurting the U.S. economy."

She concluded by expressing satisfaction with the court's decision: "I am pleased to see the court recognize that the administration—once again—overstepped.”
