WASHINGTON — Chairwoman Virginia Foxx expressed strong criticism ahead of the upcoming hearing where Acting Secretary Julie Su of the U.S. Department of Labor is set to testify for the second time in her unconfirmed role. Foxx raised concerns about the Biden administration's agenda and its impact on workers and job creators.
Foxx stated, “Incomprehensibly, this will now be the second time Julie Su has appeared before the Committee in her unconfirmed role as Acting Secretary of Labor. This time, the Biden administration is asking for even more taxpayer money to enact its Big Labor agenda at the expense of workers and job creators.”
The Chairwoman further added, “Under Su, DOL is imposing punitive costs and regulatory burdens on job creators, especially small businesses, and limiting opportunities for American workers. This Committee has serious concerns about Su’s failed leadership and the devastating impacts of her overbearing agenda.”
The hearing, titled “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the Department of Labor,” is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 2175 Rayburn House Office Building. Acting Secretary Julie Su will be the witness at the hearing, which is open to the press and will be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
