WASHINGTON – Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) recognized the achievements of the Congresswomen on the Committee in a recent address on the House Floor. Foxx praised the work of her colleagues and highlighted their contributions to the betterment of the American people.

Foxx began by acknowledging the ongoing impact of the women on the Education and the Workforce Committee, stating, “While women’s history month was in March, the impact that the women on the Education and the Workforce Committee have can be felt every day.” She then proceeded to showcase the accomplishments and legislative victories of each Congresswoman on the Committee.

Among those mentioned was Congresswoman Stefanik, noted for being the youngest woman ever elected to Congress and the current youngest woman in top House leadership. Foxx commended Stefanik for co-authoring the Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act, aimed at addressing workforce gaps and equipping students with transferable skills.

Foxx also highlighted Congresswoman Steel as the first Korean American elected to Congress, emphasizing her bill, the DETERRENT Act, which aims to prevent foreign adversaries from using monetary incentives to infiltrate U.S. universities. Additionally, Congresswoman Letlow was recognized for her efforts to increase transparency and expand school choice options through legislation such as the Parents Bill of Rights.

The Chairwoman also praised Congresswoman Houchin for her leadership in the community and service in the Indiana State Senate, noting the passage of language from her Students Bill of Rights to protect free speech on college campuses. Furthermore, Congresswoman Miller was acknowledged as a conservative champion and Vice Chair of the Committee on Education and the Workforce, with significant contributions to the Parents Bill of Rights and advocacy for women's sports.

Foxx highlighted Congresswoman McClain's entrepreneurial background and legislative work to protect taxpayers from student loan transfer schemes, as well as Congresswoman Chavez-DeRemer's role as the first female and Latina mayor of Happy Valley and her successful Health DATA Act.

In closing, Foxx reiterated the Committee's dedication to advancing opportunities for women in the workplace and education, emphasizing the crucial role played by the remarkable women serving on the Committee. Foxx expressed her gratitude, stating, “The remarkable women who serve on the Committee play an indispensable role in that mission and I thank them for their tireless work on behalf of American women."
