In response to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ (NAIA) vote to protect women’s sports, Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) strongly criticized the Biden administration's stance on allowing biological males to compete in women's sports. Foxx stated, "Allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports is a travesty—one that the Biden administration is enabling with its radical interpretation of Title IX."

Foxx highlighted the impact of this policy, noting that it results in women being denied equal opportunity, which goes against the very purpose of Title IX. She expressed concern about girls being displaced from sports teams to accommodate biological males, leading to fewer college scholarships and diminished opportunities for female athletes. Foxx emphasized the importance of fair competition in sports, stating, "Sports are about competition and fair play; allowing biological males to compete against women jeopardizes both of those things."

Commending the NAIA for taking action to protect women's sports, Foxx called for others to follow suit, stating, "It’s time for others to step up." The NAIA's decision to safeguard the integrity of women's sports has garnered support from Foxx, who remains steadfast in her commitment to preserving fair competition and opportunities for female athletes.
