Sparta Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Alleghany County schools, welcoming 505 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

Among the four schools in Alleghany County, Alleghany High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 417 students, while Glade Creek Elementary School welcomed 234 students and ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Sparta Elementary School is part of Alleghany County Schools district, which roughly covers institutions within Alleghany County and has a main office in Sparta.

In the previous school year, Sparta Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Alleghany County schools.
