Town of Boone issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.

The Town of Boone continues the Boone 150 celebration with a series of evening and nighttime tours of the historic Boone Cemetery, starting on October 7th, and continuing on Fridays in October, including Halloween. The guided tours will feature various themes such as, “Bizarre Boone,” “Women in the Boone Cemetery,” and “Veterans in the Boone Cemetery.” Tours will be led by local historians and enthusiasts, including Bettie Bond, Trent Margrif, Ellie Mayfield, Eric Plaag, and Gary Plaag.

Tours of the Boone Cemetery will take place on October 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, and 31st. Tours begin at six, seven, eight, and nine o'clock, with the exception of October 28th, which will not have a six o'clock tour, to allow the university's homecoming parade to conclude. Tours are free to attend, and each tour will allow a maximum of 15 patrons. A link to an online sign-up form is available at www.boone150.com and open spaces may be filled on-site with first-come-first-serve.
