County of Mitchell Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.
The Mitchell County Chamber will host a candidates' forum on Tuesday, Oct 18, 2022, at 6 pm at the Historic Courthouse in Bakersville. Candidates for NC House, Mitchell County Commissioners, and the Mitchell County Board of Education Race have been invited to participate. Community members are invited to submit questions for the candidates. Questions will be presented by a panel to the candidates on the evening of the forum. Please remember that questions are printed and placed in a container to be chosen randomly by the panelists. There is no guarantee that every question will be pulled in the allotted time. Please submit your questions by the October 10th deadline.
