County of Ashe issued the following announcement on Sept. 1.
Ashe County is seeking applications to fill a vacancy in the Department of Environmental Services as an Equipment Operator/Landfill Specialist. Successful applicant will be responsible for performing various duties in the operation of the Ashe County Landfill. Applicant will operate motorized heavy equipment used in the disposal of refuse at the landfill.
Employee is responsible for policing the landfill site and directing the public in the disposal of trash, and assists with minor preventative maintenance on all equipment. Possession of a valid NC Commercial driver’s license is a plus.
Applicant must exercise some independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Salary: $35,298.00 annually plus an excellent benefits package.
