County of Avery issued the following announcement on Apr. 11.
Avery County has received a grant in the amount of $750,000 from the NC Department of Commerce to provide rehabilitation assistance to low-income homeowners in Avery County. Project activities include the reconstruction (replacement of deteriorated house with a manufactured home) of three (3) structures and the rehabilitation of three (3) structures. These six (6) units have been pre-selected and a preliminary inspection has been done on each home.
The County is requesting proposals for a qualified individual or firm with the technical expertise and capacity to assist with a housing rehabilitation program by conducting home inspections, producing work write-ups, coordinating bid openings, and coordinating with homeowner and contractors to rehabilitate or reconstruct six (6) deteriorated homes.

Proposals will be accepted until 4:30 pm May 27, 2022.
