Mitchell County Chamber issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.
With the storm coming on and a possibility of loss of power. The county will put in place (if needed) shelters on both ends of the county, in a effort to protect to our citizens. County deputies ,police and fire personnel will provide transportation, if needed. Remember if you have a loved one that needs checked, call 828-688-9110 Mitchell County Communications.
This is not a curfew. This is placing certain agencies and personnel on stand-by for the county and city.
