County of Ashe issued the following announcement on Dec. 2.
A local burning ban for open burning within 100' of a dwelling has been issued for the county area and the municipality of Jefferson, Lansing and West Jefferson. This coincides with the state burning ban that covers areas more than 100' from a dwelling. Please see the press release below for additional information.
