Town of Beech Mountain issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
8/20/2021 Friday: SR 184 Tynecastle Hwy near the Alpine Coaster and Foodlion in Banner Elk is closed to at least one lane with expectations to be fully closed due to a washout. People should avoid the area if possible.
