WASHINGTON – Today, Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) spoke out about Richard Cordray's planned departure as the head of the Department of Education's Office of Federal Student Aid.

Foxx expressed her views on Cordray's leadership, stating, "Finally, we have some good news from the Department of Education: Richard Cordray is leaving. Cordray will be remembered for his ineffective leadership, blatant partisanship, and his failures regarding FAFSA rollout and return to repayment." Foxx emphasized the need for a new leader at the Office of Federal Student Aid who can prioritize the needs of students, families, and institutions without being influenced by politics.

In her statement, Foxx concluded with a sharp remark directed at Cordray, saying, "Mr. Cordray, don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Cordray's departure from his role as the COO of Federal Student Aid has sparked reactions from various stakeholders, with Foxx's criticism being one of the notable responses to the news.
