County of Avery issued the following announcement on July 18.
Avery county has declared the following vehicles and equipment as surplus property to be sold to the public:
#1 2003 gmc ambulance mileage 238,498
#2 2003 chevy pick-up mileage 171,235
#3 2011 dodge pick-up mileage 121,361
Vehicles may be seen parked near the playground at the Avery County administration building. Sealed bids will be accepted until 3:00 pm August 4, 2022 in the county manager’s office, room 214, administrative building, 175 Linville street, Newland.
Bids will be opened August 4, 2022 at 3:30 pm, and accepted offers will be notified. Acceptable payment will be in the form of cash or cashier's check. Avery county reserves the right to refuse any and all offers based on the best interest of Avery county. All vehicles will be sold “as is where is”
The vehicle or equipment name must be on the front of the envelope. The amount offered and the name and phone number must be inside the envelope.
