Town of Beech Mountain issued the following announcement on June 16.
The North Carolina Rural Water Association announced the Town of Beech Mountain, NC won 1st place in the State’s ‘water taste’ contest.
The NCRWA panel conducts a blind taste test similar to a wine testing to determine the winner. A water sample is tested on a grading scale for: taste, odor, color, and clarity. As the 1st place winner, Beech Mountain will compete at the national level at the National Rural Water Association’s Great American Taste Test held in Washington , D.C.
Our citizens wish to thank the Beech Mountain Water Treatment Plant Department operators: Donald Moree, Sammy Trivette, Josh Cordell, Roger Hicks, Gary White, and lead by Chief Operator, Ronnie McKinney, and the Public Works Utility Director, Daniel Davis.
