Virginia Foxx, U.S. Representative for North Carolina’s 5th congressional district, posted a series of tweets between July 31 and August 1, 2025, reflecting on personal experiences and recent events.

On July 31, Foxx wrote, “Chapter One: I Lost.” Later that day, she shared an encounter from earlier in the summer: “I had the pleasure of spending time with Kaessey when she traveled to Washington in early June. What a great piece by the Ashe Post & Times.” On August 1, Foxx followed up with another statement: “Complete and total victory.”

Foxx has a long history of electoral success in her district. In the most recent general election in 2024, she defeated Chuck Hubbard with 59.5% of the vote to Hubbard’s 40.5%. Previous elections show similar margins: in 2022, she won against Kyle Parrish with over 63% of the vote; in 2020, she secured nearly 67% against David Brown; and in earlier years—2018, 2016, and 2014—she consistently maintained strong leads over her opponents.
