Virginia Foxx, a long-serving U.S. Representative from North Carolina, posted a series of statements on her social media account in early January 2026 addressing themes of freedom, allegations of fraud, and the passing of a congressional colleague.

On January 3, 2026, Foxx published a brief message: “Freedom.”

Two days later, on January 5, she posted another succinct statement: “Fraud. https://t.co/Q66UfTwDvs”

On January 6, Foxx shared condolences following the death of fellow lawmaker Doug LaMalfa: “I’m heartbroken to learn of the passing of Doug LaMalfa.

He was such a kind and sincere man, and a genuine friend to countless members and staff within the People’s House. His passion for public service was incredibly admirable. We will all miss him.

My prayers are with his”

Foxx has held her seat in Congress through multiple election cycles. In 2024, she defeated Chuck Hubbard with nearly 60% of the vote; previous elections saw similar results against Kyle Parrish in 2022 (63.15%), David Brown in 2020 (66.9%), Denise D. Adams in 2018 (57%), Josh Brannon in both 2014 (61%) and 2016 (58.4%). These victories reflect her longstanding presence in North Carolina politics.

Doug LaMalfa, mentioned by Foxx as a friend and admired public servant, was also recognized for his tenure and contributions within Congress.
