Virginia Foxx, a long-serving U.S. Representative, recently announced on her social media account the introduction of new legislation aimed at enhancing school choice opportunities for low-income families in Washington, D.C.

On September 10, 2025, Foxx posted, “I’ve introduced the SOAR Act Improvements Act, legislation that makes targeted improvements to the only federally funded school choice program in the nation to help children from low-income families in Washington, D.C. succeed. Learn more: https://t.co/NbD1CQIGzG”.

Later that day, she shared a brief message stating, “Pray for Charlie Kirk.”

On September 11, 2025, Foxx followed up with another post quoting scripture: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Foxx has maintained a strong electoral record over recent years. In 2024, she won re-election by defeating Chuck Hubbard with 59.5% of the vote to Hubbard’s 40.5%. She previously defeated Kyle Parrish in 2022 (63.15% to 36.85%), David Brown in 2020 (66.9% to 31.1%), Denise D. Adams in 2018 (57% to 43%), Josh Brannon in both 2016 (58.4% to 41.6%) and 2014 (61% to 39%).
