Virginia Foxx, a longtime U.S. Representative from North Carolina, used her social media platform on October 6, 2025, to criticize Democratic lawmakers over government spending and health care policy for undocumented immigrants.

In a post published at 01:13 UTC, Foxx wrote: “You deserve to not have your hard earned tax dollars go towards paying for the health care of illegals. That’s what Democrats want.”

Later that day, at 14:32 UTC, she continued her criticism of Democratic positions on government funding and immigration with another statement: “Day number six of Democrats shutting down the government because they want taxpayers to foot the bill for the health care of illegals. Do you want your hard earned tax dollars being funneled to this scheme? I sure as hell don’t.”

Foxx further questioned Democratic rhetoric in a third post at 16:33 UTC: “By ‘everyday Americans’, do you mean the illegals who you want to receive health care at the expense of actual American taxpayers? Just curious.”

Virginia Foxx has represented North Carolina in Congress since 2005 and has consistently won re-election by wide margins. In recent election cycles, she defeated Chuck Hubbard in 2024 with nearly 60% of the vote; Kyle Parrish in 2022 with over 63%; David Brown in 2020 with nearly 67%; Denise D. Adams in 2018 with 57%; Josh Brannon in both 2016 and 2014 with about 58% and 61%, respectively.

Foxx’s remarks come amid ongoing debates within Congress regarding federal funding priorities and immigration policy.
