Virginia Foxx, a long-serving U.S. Representative from North Carolina, posted a series of tweets on July 30, 2025, addressing recent legislative efforts and expressing gratitude for support received.

In one tweet posted at 13:37 UTC, Foxx thanked Forbes by stating, “Thank you, @Forbes. https://t.co/enHvr8SaAZ”.

Later the same day at 16:13 UTC, she acknowledged collaboration with another lawmaker on new legislation: “Thank you, @RepJoshG, for joining me in introducing the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act that will prohibit colleges and universities from receiving federal student aid if they engage in commercial and academic boycotts dictated by those in the boycott-sanction-divest”. A subsequent tweet at the same time included only a link: “https://t.co/BOmVKV2bIn”.

Foxx has maintained her seat in Congress through several election cycles. In 2024, she defeated Chuck Hubbard with 59.5% of the vote. Previous victories include defeating Kyle Parrish in 2022 with 63.15%, David Brown in 2020 with 66.9%, Denise D. Adams in 2018 with 57%, Josh Brannon in both 2016 and 2014 with margins of 58.4% and 61%, respectively.
