Village of Sugar Mountain issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.

The latest from National Weather Service: Winter Storm Warning In Effect From 6 Pm Saturday To 8 Am EST Monday. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 20 inches above 4000 feet elevation. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. (Sugar Mtn is located at the top tip of the map.) Chains or 4 WD required in village Sunday & Monday.
