Town of Beech Mountain issued the following announcement on Nov. 22. 

Decide to do one thing. Select one personal sustainable practice that combines your daily winter routine, with one sustainable effort. This pledge can be as easy or as difficult as you want. Pledges include using reusable containers and bags, volunteering for a sustainable effort, carpooling to work or for activities, start composting, recycle, reduce and reuse, eat one locally sourced meal per week, meatless Mondays, avoid single use plastics, turn off your water while brushing your teeth and conserve water on the mountain, pick up garbage (even if it is not your own), plus so many more. Together, let’s make an impact
