In a recent statement, Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx expressed her disappointment with Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's actions. Foxx responded to what she described as Schumer's "last-ditch effort to keep labor bosses happy."

Foxx remarked on the political shift following President Trump's election, stating, “President Trump was given a mandate by the American people, and that means that Big Labor knows the days of having the federal government do its bidding are numbered.” She criticized Schumer for attempting to secure a five-year appointment as his term nears its end.

Expressing relief over the outcome, Foxx said, “Thankfully, his colleagues had enough commonsense to stop a move that dramatically undercuts the will of the voters." She anticipates that the Trump administration will pursue policies favoring workers' interests.
