The Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development, led by Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT), is scheduled to conduct a hearing on December 11 at 10:15 a.m. The session will focus on the policies and priorities of AmeriCorps, particularly addressing its failure in the fiscal year 2024 audit.

Chairman Owens expressed concerns about AmeriCorps' performance, stating, "AmeriCorps is a prime example of the federal government’s inefficiency. It has failed eight audits in a row, and yet the Biden-Harris administration wants to expand its mission to include ‘environmental justice’ and up its budget to boot." He further noted that the hearing aims to present facts regarding AmeriCorps' operations and emphasize why it should be prioritized for review by DOGE once President-elect Trump assumes office.

The hearing will take place at 2175 Rayburn House Office Building. Members of the press are invited to attend, and it will also be available via live stream on the Committee’s YouTube page.
