On Wednesday, May 22, at 10:15 a.m., the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions will conduct a hearing. Chaired by Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), the hearing is titled “Big Labor Lies: Exposing Union Tactics to Undermine Free and Fair Elections.”
Chairman Good expressed his concerns about union practices. He stated, “Union bosses often use shady tactics to intimidate employees and undermine free and fair election processes, forcing workers into union membership.” He further elaborated on the methods employed by unions such as corporate campaigns, neutrality agreements, and salting. These tactics are said to pressure employers, mislead employees, and restrict their ability to make choices that best suit them.
Good emphasized his stance against these practices stating, “We cannot allow Big Labor to continue their despicable practices that harm employers and undermine employee rights.”
The hearing will take place in the 2175 Rayburn House Office Building. It is open to the press and will be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
