Tomorrow, at 10:15 a.m., the Committee on Education and the Workforce, under the chairmanship of Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), will convene a hearing titled “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the Department of Health and Human Services.”

Chairwoman Foxx stated, “Under Secretary Becerra, the Department of Health and Human Services has pursued a radical political agenda that has compromised Americans’ religious freedoms and parental rights, and pushed dangerous gender-reassignment surgeries on minors.” She added that the Department is now seeking a budget increase to support the struggling Obamacare marketplace and impose more stringent regulations on private insurance. This move, she argues, will make it increasingly difficult for Americans to access high-quality healthcare. "This hearing will allow the Committee to conduct much-needed oversight of the Department and its warped priorities,” she concluded.

The full committee hearing titled “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the Department of Health and Human Services” will take place at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. The venue for this event is 2175 Rayburn House Office Building.

The Honorable Xavier Becerra, Secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is expected to testify as a witness at this hearing. The proceedings are open to press coverage and will be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
