On Saturday, December 16, former Lowell Senior High School standout, Christopher Mantis’ current college team, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, won 80-59 in their NCAA D1 game against the Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs.

The game took place in Greensboro, North Carolina. This was the first matchup against the Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs this season.
