Of the 1,878 people living in Sparta in 2020, 51.2 percent (962) were women and 48.8 percent (916) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the High Country Times.

There were as many males 18 and over as females. In the 65 and over age range, there were 325 females and 188 males.
