TOWN OF NORTH WILKESBORO: Town Hall To Display Red And Blue Lights Over Christmas To Honor Public Safety Employees

Christmaslights

Town of North Wilkesboro issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

North Wilkesboro Town Hall will display red and blue lights over the Christmas holiday to thank and acknowledge the town’s public safety employees, Town Manager Wilson Hooper announced today.

From December 23 through December 27, 2021, Town Hall’s decorative exterior lights will switch from red to blue at regular intervals as a symbolic gesturing honoring police officers and firefighters, particularly those who work during the holidays.

“While the rest of us are at home with our families, North Wilkesboro’s police officers and firefighters are still hard at work,” said Hooper. “This is a small gesture, but indicative of the deep font of appreciation we hold for our public safety colleagues.”

Hooper continued: “It already takes guts for public safety professionals to do what they do. But it takes something subtler as well. It takes dedication, loyalty, willingness to sacrifice. Those are all things worth honoring.”

Mayor Marc Hauser added: “Especially at this time of year it's important to remember and honor those who do so much for us all.  Too often police and firefighters are taken for granted until sorely needed. Let us be thankful and mindful this Christmas season of those who protect and keep us safe.”
