House committee schedules markup of six workforce and retirement-related bills

The House Committee on Education and Workforce, led by Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI), is scheduled to mark up six bills aimed at strengthening retirement security, improving workplace safety, and supporting the American workforce. The session will take place at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The bills under consideration include the Tribal Labor Sovereignty Act of 2025 (H.R. 1723), Balance the Scales Act (H.R. 2958), EBSA Investigations Transparency Act (H.R. 2869), Michael Enzi Voluntary Protection Program Act (H.R. 2844), Direct Seller and Real Estate Agent Harmonization Act (H.R. 3495), and Retire through Ownership Act (H.R. 5169).

“The markup is open to the press and will be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page,” according to the committee announcement.
