COUNTY OF YANCEY: Low Income Energy Assistance Program

County of Yancy issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.

Yancey County DSS is currently taking applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program for households containing an elderly person age 60 and above or households containing persons that receives services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS).

Applications are being taken by phone again this year with no signature required. 

You do not need to come into the office but you may if you wish to. We will be taking applications until all funds have been used or until March 31. 

You may call 828-682-6148.

Applications are also available in a file cabinet under the carport at the DSS office. 

You may complete the form and drop the application in the green drop box located on the island outside the office. 

We are also happy to mail an application to you.
