County of Yancey issued the following announcement on Apr. 25.

Registration is open!
Early bird registration ends on April 15th. Until then, the cost for registration is $30 for adults and FREE for children! After April 15th, registration fees increase to $35 for adults. T-shirt quantities are limited this year, so register soon to secure yours! Register online here.

Sponsor a runner!
All children run for FREE, and for many the BFF 5K is the spark that ignites a lifelong love of running. This was the case for Edwin Silva — a longtime BFF 5K participant who will be deeply missed this year. A $30 donation to the Edwin Silva Memorial “Sponsor a Runner” Fund will enable one child to participate in the race. To learn more about Edwin and to sponsor a child, please click here or mail a check to PATH at the address below:

202 Medical Campus Dr.
Burnsville, NC 28714

We need volunteers!
We can always use an extra set of hands! Volunteer assignments include things like handing out water along the course, or potentially serving as a Course Marshall to guard intersections and help ensure the safety of our runners. Please sign up by email  to hannah@pathwnc.org if you are available to help.

We look forward to seeing you at the race!
