General Statutes §153A-155, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., with the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners to immediately follow, in the Commissioners’ Room at the Wilkes County Office Building, 110 North Street, Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to receive public comment with respect to the Board of Commissioners’ consideration of a resolution levying a room occupancy tax of up to six percent (6%) under the authority conferred by North Carolina Session Law 2010- 78 as enacted by the North Carolina General Assembly effective July 9, 2010.

Under said statute, the Board of Commissioners is established as the governing body of “Wilkes County District K,” a special taxing district consisting of that part of Wilkes County which is located outside of the incorporated areas within the County, and is authorized to adopt a resolution levying a room occupancy tax in District K.

General Statutes §105-164.4(a)(3), and will be effective on the first day of the second calendar month after the date the resolution is adopted.
