County of Watauga Parks and Recreation Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.

Registration is now being accepted for Adult 3v3 Basketball Leagues.  5 Divisions of 3v3 Basketball are offered – Men’s Competitive, Men’s Recreational, Men’s Over 50, Women’s, and High School Division. 

 Games will be played at Watauga Community Recreation Center on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 5:30pm & 10:30pm, beginning the week of February 6.  

Each team will be scheduled for double headers on one night each week.  

All teams will be scheduled for 10 games.  Games are played 3 v 3 on half court with a maximum of 6 players per game. 

 A game will consist of 2 – 10 minute halves with a running clock.  Participants may only play in one league and for only one team.  

Leagues may be combined if registration is not sufficient in any league.  

Participants must be 16 years of age or older to play in Men’s or Women’s Leagues; participants must show proof of enrollment in an accredited High School to play in the High School division; and participants must be age 50 or better to play in the Men’s 50+ division.  

 Team registration is accepted online at https://rec.watgov.org or in person at the recreation center during regular operating hours.
