COUNTY OF MITCHELL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: National Parks Trip Planning Tips

0Comments

County Of Mitchell Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

Orange you glad it’s fall? It’s a great time to visit one of your national parks, but a little trip planning can ensure that your only surprises (Is that a pumpkin walking in the woods?) are happy ones. What should you keep in mind? Let’s get glowing!

Don’t miss the gourd stuff!

With more than 400 national parks, don’t miss out on finding places that may be off the beaten patch that offer the beauty of nature and the power of history—only with fewer crowds and vines.

Make a plan…and a backup plan.

Hit the road, jack-o-lantern, but stay ahead of the carve and start your visit at home with a trip to NPS.gov. Park websites have ideas about where to go, what to see (yeah, that is a pumpkin walking in the woods), and what to do!

Don’t be caught off gourd!

The weather may be un-be-leafable now, but it could change in an instant! Make sure to check to see if it’s a sweata weatha kinda day or time for a light cardigaaaaan!

Keep safety in the picture.

We love to take photos. But we also don’t wanna fall down and go squash. So we’re careful to take pics where it is safe, including selfies. Watch your step and avoid needing a pumpkin patch.

Don’t be scared, be prepared!

You really autumn know! Your safety depends on using good judgement, adequate preparation, and knowing what to do in an emergency. Be prepared with proper equipment and the knowledge of how to use it.
