County of Avery issued the following announcement on Apr. 6.

Avery County is seeking qualified contractors to bid their upcoming Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Neighborhood Revitalization Project #20-C-3626. CDBG funding has been awarded in order to rehabilitate 3 homes and perform emergency repairs on up to 10 homes in Avery County.  The 24-month project is expected to begin in the Fall of 2022.

Contractors interested in bidding on this project will need to complete a pre-qualification information sheet.  Contractors participating in this project are required to be licensed, carry workers compensation, general liability insurance, and should have taken the Lead- Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting training and be a certified RPP Firm with the NC Department of Health and Human Services.
