County of Ashe issued the following announcement on May 30.

Ashe County World Elder Abuse Awareness Stroll Day will be held Wednesday, June 15 beginning at 11:00 when several community leaders will share their concern for the elderly in our community. The presentations will be followed by a stroll around the government campus.  Community agencies will have display tables in the rotunda of the courthouse to share information about the services available to the elderly and those who care for them. Food vendors will be on hand. Come have some fun and learn how you can help protect elders from abuse.
