County of Alleghany issued the following announcement on Apr. 25.

In North Carolina, property owners meeting the qualifications stated below may qualify for Elderly or Disabled Property Tax Homestead Exclusion.

The exclusion amount is greater than $ 25,000 or 50% of the appraised value of the residence. The residence is defined as a dwelling and up to 1 acre of land. properties more than 1 acre will receive exclusion on the 1-acre primary site.
